Born 12 August, 1945 in Fumel - France. Architect - Urban designer. Equerre d'argent for the Institute of the Arab World in 1987, for the Opéra of Lyon in 1993, Commandeur of the order of Arts and Letters, Leone D'Oro from the Venice Biennale in 2000, Gold metal from the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2001, Borromini Prize for the Culture and Congress Center in Lucerne in 2001, Praemium Imperiale in 2001. His most important works can be seen at the Institute of the Arab World, Opéra of Lyon, the Congress Center in Tours, the Cartier Foundation, the Galeries Lafayette in Berlin, the Culture and Congress Center in Lucerne, the Cité Judiciare in Nantes, the conversion of a gas meter in Vienna.
Major works in progress are: the Dentsu tower in Tokyo, the Agbar tower in Barcellona, the UEC tower in Frankfurt, a technological center in Wismar, the Omnitron headquarters in Guadalajara, the reorganization for the Jussieu campus in Paris, the Richemont headquarters in Genoa, the premises for lofts in New York, hotel Soho in New York, the Museum of Art and History in Genoa, the Quai Branly museum in Paris, the Queen Sofia Museum in Madrid, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, the symphony hall in Copenhagen.
