The Excelsior Hotel Gallia embodies the cosmopolitan charm of a city like Milan. Originally inaugurated in 1932, the hotel was completely renovated by the renowned Milanese architect Marco Piva. The multifunctional “Cupola” hall features the “Musa” seating designed by him, incorporating an innovative mechanism that allows the seats to be hidden beneath the floor.

“The interior spaces of the Excelsior Gallia Hotel are characterized by a magnificent yet fluid atmosphere. Each area features a clean, linear mood, designed with very specific characteristics. The interiors evoke the timeless elegance and style of the Art Déco period, while lighting dominates the spaces throughout the building, creating a play of natural and artificial light. The ultimate goal was to recreate a multisensory, multitasking experience—a synesthetic project that seamlessly blends culture, history, fashion, and functional design.” – Marco Piva
