Jorge Pensi - ESTEL

Jorge Pensi

Born in Buenos Aires in 1946, Jorge Pensi studied architecture in his hometown. By the time he graduated in 1971, he had already begun designing furniture for the interior design studio where he was a partner. In 1975, he left Argentina and settled in Barcelona. Together with designer Alberto Liévore and theorists Norberto Chaves and Oriol Pibernat, he founded the “Grupo Berenguer.” In 1984, Jorge Pensi opened his own design office. His professionalism and products have earned him numerous international awards and recognitions. He works for global companies in product design and architecture. Since 1993, he has also taught at various institutions, including the Stuttgart Academy of Arts, in a design course led by Richard Sapper and Klaus Lehmann.

If there is one thing that defines Jorge Pensi’s projects, it is their timelessness.

“I have always believed in objects with a soul, capable of conveying emotions and captivating at first glance. Timeless, able to share our precious moments … I have always tried to escape trivial trends. There is no rule to connect two points: sometimes it is a straight line, but often it can be a curved line.” (J. Pensi)
