Collaborative Room

Design:
Metrica
The Collaborative Room was conceived to create a welcoming space within the open-plan offices typical of contemporary workplaces, dedicated to privacy, acoustic comfort, concentration, and collaboration. Large glass panels allow natural light to enter and maintain visual contact with the outside. At the same time, the solid panels and the glass ensure well-defined and pleasant acoustics: the ideal place for a phone call, conversation, or meeting, without being disturbed and without disturbing those outside.

This “space within a space” can accommodate various functions: meeting and waiting areas, operational or executive workstations, compartments for printers and other support equipment, videoconference rooms, and, in its larger versions, even break and refreshment zones.
The structure is modular and can be flexibly accessorized internally according to different usage needs.

The 192×199 cm module is the smallest in the range. Its interior space can accommodate up to four people, making it suitable for short meetings and conversations.
It is also ideal for housing technical equipment such as printers or for creating a small focus and concentration area within an open-space environment.

The 247×247 cm version features large straight and curved glass panels, making the Collaborative Room largely transparent visually while remaining acoustically isolated. Equipped with multimedia technology, a table, and chairs, this collaborative room can be transformed into an ideal meeting and videoconference space, allowing team members to meet and collaborate without disturbing others.

The Collaborative Room can also be positioned against a wall; in this case, the wall-facing corners are right angles. The 295×247 cm version—furnished appropriately—is a perfect operational office for activities that require privacy and acoustic isolation.

The 295×487 cm Collaborative Room is the largest model.
Its versatility allows for multiple uses; for example, dividing the Collaborative Room into two acoustically isolated work areas helps optimize space and enhance the comfort of those working inside, thereby improving overall well-being.
Creating areas dedicated to specific activities forms the foundation of activity-based working, the future of modern work environments.

Ventilation

A healthy and comfortable environment starts with the air you breathe.
In all versions of the Collaborative Room, air exchange is ensured by a ceiling-installed ventilation system, which allows control of CO₂ levels, humidity, and temperature, with a maximum airflow of up to 240 m³/h. The VMC system and its ducts are installed in a dedicated technical compartment above the Collaborative Room’s roof, concealed by a PVC casing that provides both aesthetic and soundproofing functions.

Electrification

Each Collaborative Room has at least one removable internal panel that houses low-voltage 24V electrical wiring. Suspended work surfaces, as well as any tables and seating, can be electrified and equipped with USB or AC/DC outlets for device charging and power supply.
Integrated ceiling LED lighting can be made dimmable for greater visual comfort within the workspace. The LED lights have a color temperature of 3000K and provide an average illuminance of 500 lux on the work surface.
The external power outlet, which supplies the entire module, is equipped with a residual-current device (RCD) for safety.

Acoustics

The perimeter of the Collaborative Room consists of solid plywood panels covered with technical fabric featuring high acoustic absorption, and tempered glass modules that provide a high level of sound insulation from the external environment, up to 36 dB.
