Restpod: your oasis in the office
On the occasion of the 2025 Salone del Mobile, Estel presented Restpod™, a multisensory module designed to provide restorative breaks in the workplace.
The opening evening on April 9 at the Estel showroom in Corso Matteotti, Milan, featured an inspirational talk by Mario Cucinella on regenerative spaces. Throughout the FuoriSalone week, visitors had the opportunity to experience Restpod firsthand in an immersive setting.
A new paradigm for well-being in the workplace
Restpod is born from the integration of biophilic principles and evidence-based design, aiming to enhance people’s work and life quality. The modular, customizable space combines natural elements, adjustable lighting, and acoustic comfort to support mental and emotional recovery throughout the workday.
🧠 Just 15 minutes inside Restpod are enough to significantly reduce perceived stress levels. This is confirmed by studies conducted by the APsyM Lab at the University of Verona, which also show:
A decrease in cortisol levels (the stress hormone),
an increase in perceived energy and focus,
and an improvement in post-session mood.
The research behind the project
For 99% of our evolutionary history, we lived in natural environments. Today, compared to just twenty years ago, we spend 25% less time in contact with nature. If living fully immersed in it is no longer possible, the challenge is to bring nature into the spaces we inhabit every day, starting with the workplace.
Restpod is a project conceived by ODUElab, part of the DVArea group, in collaboration with the APsyM Lab at the University of Verona, and produced and distributed by Estel.
